The Bin @ Lee Memorial Hospital (Fort Myers, FL) Providing socks, shoes, and jackets to the homeless or indigent patients presenting to the Emergency Department. This is a big need as many patients have ongoing wound issues due to not having good socks and shoes. Especially now that we are in the rainy season it is imperative to help those people without shelter from the elements to stay warm and dry.
New Tarps (Fort Myers, FL) Medium sized plastic tarps that may be given out to our homeless population to prepare for SW Florida rainy season! Please make sure that the tarps are the type that can be easily folded down into an appropriate size for someone who must carry them on their person. >>for LMH employees you may drop off the tarps at Wanda Short's desk in the ED. >>for Lee County residents you may either email for pickup arrangement at: admin@reachingoutministry.com or mail to the address on the front page or under Contact Us.
Take Stock in Children Program (Lee County, FL) A mentorship program that connects an adult with a teen in 9-12 grade. This program is run by the Foundation for Lee County Public Schools, Inc. Email admin@reachingoutministry.com for info on whom to contact to join this program.

* Teddy bears to give to children who are entering into the foster care system or into the guardian ad litem program.
* Portable audio systems to take to nursing homes to share the worship gatherings from churches around the country.
* Purchase new sheets and pillowcases to provide to the Children's Advocacy Program for the ACT shelters.
* Connect with an existing parent prayer connection team - one team in each school to come together as a group to pray for the needs of Lee County children.
* Put together kits to provide to the area shelters with personal hygiene products and comfort items.
* Provide shoes to any child who needs them through the daycares in Lee County.
* Work transition - help those in need with writing resumes, interviewing skills, obtaining interview clothing, and support with networking possible employers together to assist in this.
...and many more ideas...still brainstorming and making connections with the programs that will assure the needs are identified - we welcome any and all ideas or help with making these connections!

My goal is to learn how to always be looking for needs not being met and to do that I need help from people who either suffer from needs not being met, or that work with people in need, or who are involved in charitable work or community service, etc.
